Walking

Nice, clear paths now that the water has receded & dried up from the last few heavy rains (and Tropical Storm Eta). I would suggest shoes over flip flops because some of the stones are pretty sharp. A great place to get away from the city, get outdoors and onto traditional hiking trails with your dog!

Mountain bikingGreat!

The trails are very challenging if you know where to go.. The beginning trails get flooded in high tide season but the back trails are on higher terrain and they do not get flooded not matter what . btw , the length in total including Gillian Island trail , which is a black diamond trail is a little under 19 miles not 1.9 miles . If you are hiking I recommend you to put some mosquitoes repellent on, that will make your activity more enjoyable.

Hiking

Muddy swamp, full of mosquitoes. Not good for walking, meant for mountain bikes.

Seems as the trails have never been maintained. There are barely any signs directing Or guiding you in the trails it’s very confusing. Also everything is very overgrown and hasn’t been cut down in a while There are trees That have fallen on the trail way and that are blocking the trail way and is potentially hazardous. These trails Need a lot of work done and maintenance. I see a lot of potential in these trails if they are well-maintained and well kept a lot of awesome features that were unusable Due to the condition that they were in. I don’t plan on returning To these trails anytime soon as I really didn’t even have an enjoyable ride, but hopefully whenever I do return the trails will have been cleaned up and maintain and will be a lot more rideable and enjoyable!
