No tidal influence, easy launch, nearby parking, restaurants, and wildlife. Great beginners paddle. An easily overlooked and beginner friendly wet spot in urban Jacksonville, New Rose Creek has a lot to offer. The launch is easy, close to parking and shaded. The dam maintains a constant water level so there is no need to worry about the tides. No obstructions or challenges here, just a leisurely paddle around the island and by the grassy backyards. The birds here are a main attraction. Good spot to practice portaging also but the main lake has enough to offer that the trip over the road isn't necessary.

Not sure why I'm being prompted to review my own guide, perhaps the date was missing. Have fun folks.
