Highly rated, highly trafficked trail but very pleasant walkers and beautiful scenery. The butterfly garden is a welcome relief and distraction, pretty dry and fading this time of year. Zebra Longwings are in plentiful supply. The sandy trail attracted cyclists and families with strollers. For lovers, there is not much seclusion but lots of potential. Saw one alligator basking in the brush. There is a crowded concession with a streetcar trolley to bring you to the beach, which today we never saw. That’s a separate excursion for day trippers. This park and trail is very well kept and managed- kudos to the staff at Florida State Parks
Beautiful trail with lots of vegetation! Meanders along mangroves and water. Sandy but well traveled. Gentle breezes rustle the leaves and make for a meditative walk! The butterfly garden at the beginning of the trail was a delightful surprise. Little chrysalis are hung in a box and we happened upon a butterfly right after she broke free.
Pretty easy loop hike. Saw a group of 5 manatees in the water near the beginning of the loop.
Beautiful park just remember to bring 8 dollars for parking so I don’t have to come back home 30 minutes to get my wallet
Hiked late afternoon. Saw I few squirrels. Nice hike very well groomed trail.
Nice trail along the water but had to turn back on the other side because the trail was flooded. looks like the water came right up to the land. still a good walk if you went out and turned back before it loops around the other side of the island.
Great trail. Lots of exposed areas but places to stop along the way and rest and take it all in. You have to walk a little ways up a service road to reach this trail.
