The trail has multiple offshoots and typically runs alongside the Possum and Hogtown creeks. Very nice, relaxing walk. The trails are not excellently maintained and it can be easy to get off-trail. For this reason, it is recommended you use the app's recording feature to avoid getting lost. Crystal clear creek water. Some sandy parts as well as some beautiful green scenery.

Nice but got lost easily. Most of the creek was dried up and also lots of bugs. Otherwise, a good way to get a lot of mileage if you’re down to go through all the side trails.

Nice shady trail through town.

This is such a pretty trail! There are wooden bridges over the marshy/swampy areas. It’s fairy crowded as one might expect from a trial that has several openings (each with parking!) that open up into residential areas. For a trail in Florida, it’s remarkably non-buggy. It’s an easy walk with great views of the creek (though no swimming or wading is allowed).

Dog and kid friendly. Shady. Lots of little cut-off to check out the creek. just stay out of the water, as it has high levels of fecal contamination

This is a nice trail in the middle of Gainesville. I question the moderate rating as there is nothing strenuous about it. If sitting on the couch is easy, then this might be moderate. There are roots on the trail, tho. I was disappointed to have to walk along 8th Ave to get from the South side to the North side and back. But it’s a great respite so close to everything.

Very beautiful but if your trying to go many miles like me the trails were very windy and it was hard to tell which way to go. Quite a bit of underbrush . It was gorgeous but hard for me to find the right trail to go six miles. I ended up repeating my steps a lot to get the mileage.

I did the southern half of the trail (below 8th Av) and it’s a pretty nice trail that really close to campus. There’s a wide main path that’s good for dog walking, biking, running (just watch out for roots), as well as smaller split off paths that are food for more individual exploration. The trail has a good diversity of environment, including a creek. Good for a quick stroll or longer exploration.

We were very disappointed that the water is contaminated so our dogs couldn't go swimming. There are fecal contamination signs everywhere. Otherwise, it was a beautiful trail with lots of shades and well-maintained trails of sand and boardwalk.

Woods on the south side of 8th Ave are very nice and easy for kids and dogs. The north side is much more secluded and narrow, but super cool. Got within ten feet of a napping deer before we startled each other.

A little gem of a trail in the suburbs of Gainesville. Not really spectacular scenery- basically woods but Gainesville put a lot of effort to make this a pretty park/trail for Gainesville residents that follows the Hogtown Creek.

It is a beautiful trail with lots of little off shoots, my only issue was you could hear the roar of the city mixed in the sounds of the teail.

Nice walk in the woods. Lots of mosquitos so wear bug spray. Definitely not a moderate trail, very easy.

Love this trail! Great for a leisurely walk or for running. Beautiful views of the creek. The trail is also shaded, which keeps it quite a bit cooler on hot days.
