Description Waypoints Tips Getting There Facilities Contact Weather There is one primitive camp site available. It's a nice open space with picnic table, fire ring, and benches. Plenty of area to explore around site gives you that secluded feeling. No water available. Part of trail hugs the river where many people were conoeing/kayaking and you could actually walk down to water from trail. Pigs, deer, hawks, osprey, and gators are in the area. $5 fee

Fun day hiking for our family.

Just about every plant in Florida is here. There are a couple spots that need boardwalks, but not bad in winter months. Trail police went overboard in a couple stretches and ruined the narrow path and canopy. All in all a nice hike.

Trail was well maintained and an easy hike. One portion was under water yet,but didn’t spoil our hike. Beautiful glimpses of the river. Saw a turtle and two snakes. Evidence of hog rooting all over the place, but didn’t sight any on this trip.

Holy shit very hard. The whole thing was under water. The bridges weren’t visible since they were under water. You need excellent tracking skills. One section took 34 minute for one mile since we were swimming. LOTS of mosquitoes. Lots of spiders. Trail was wild for most of it. Might have been months since it was walked thru to completion last. Not for the old, young, pregnant, short out of shape or people with time constraints. Good luck! If your foolish enough to do this....

Great trail. Lots of wildlife. Definitely wear long pants and long sleeves, as the southwestern portion of the trail can be totally consumed with 4+ foot grasses and other vegetation. Lots of mosquitoes in the boggy sections, so keep moving through those parts. Opportunities to collect drinking river all along the river if you have a purifier.
