Lakewood Park Loop is a 1.8 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Fort Pierce, Florida that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking, trail running, and nature trips.
The trails here loop in and out of the back of the park (mostly behind the lake). The whole park consists of soccer and baseball fields, a community pool, and very awesome disc golf course. There is a 4 ft gator in the lake, so beware small dogs if it’s flooded. The trail heads aren’t well marked—just start walking around the lake and look for a trail and it will make sense. You can’t get lost. Anywhere you see a sign for a “fire break” is actually awesome trail. I spot snakes and endangered tortoise here frequently. To extend your walk, you can also hit the paths around the whole park.
