This park is the best kept secret in Altamonte Springs. I lived about a mile from the park & frequented numerous times during a 10-year period. The park is free, however parking is on the other side of Maitland Blvd. & there's a tram system, similar to a theme park, for transporting visitors. The park rangers are extremely friendly & helpful, however bike cycles are prohibited past the playground & main gathering area. It's common to see wildlife including exotic birds and alligators. The boardwalks are shaded & provide a taste of the Florida wilderness. There's also a gazebo located on the lake.

Nice trail (mostly boardwalk) with lots of shade. I felt secure being alone with my 2 toddlers. Saw many birds, butterflies, bees, fish, flowers, turtles, a snake and several alligators of various ages. They do allow fishing, but you must have a license. We did see some garbage/litter, which always upsets me and I’ll never understand, but it was overall very well maintained. Lots of educational opportunities and kept my little ones entertained. Has a playground with picnic tables, but we weren’t able to experience those to review them. We went during the week so there weren’t many people, but it didn’t look like there was a lot of parking if it gets busy.

Nice Trail. Playground for Kids. Cool observation nature area alongside the path of the trail. Access to fishing, license required. Bass, Bluegills, and catfish. Majority of the trail is made up of an elevated boardwalk. But overall, it’s a good park.

This place is a gem. Right in the heart of suburbia, yet you feel like you're a hundred miles out. Beautiful walking trail and lots of wildlife. Slight drawbacks include weekend parking which is across a busy road, but they do provide a free tram on weekends, which is nice. Check for open days and such as they are limited on weekdays. I'm not sure I'd recommend driving a long distance, but if you're in the area, it really is a beautiful park.

Lovely park, very well maintained. Mostly shaded which is an added bonus, flat, easy, and even stroller friendly. Excellent for kids! The park is closed Mon thru Wed, parking is allowed inside the park on Thur and Fri, and on the weekends the "Weekend and Special Event Parking" is the only parking allowed. You can wait to take the tram which runs every 30-45 min or just walk the tram route which is was we did to add some mileage. The raised boardwalk is wonderful, lots of benches along the way. I can't speak to the restrooms as we didn't need to use them. Very enjoyable! We will definitely do again.
