We walked this trail at 9:30-11:00 so we got out to a late start. At the time there was plenty of shade 60/40. When we got to the loop vs bridge to lagoon we went right which begins the four mile loop, not the shorter loop that’s mapped out for this. We saw butterflies, a small gator, and plenty of land crabs. There’s about ten parking spots. Make sure to bring big spray as there are some areas with many mosquitoes. The paths are big once you get on the loop and there are some picnic tables in the beginning. We cut the four mile loop short as it was snack time for our two year old and we had left them in the truck.

Very very muddy, would only recommend the trail in the dry season. There were also so many spiders over the trail, and you had to focus on not running into them. Otherwise, well maintained and many birds.

I have been going to this trail for months and I have never seen any gators until the other day. I have seen 3 baby gators in the past couple of days!!!! For babies they are pretty big! Sitting out right on the trail before you get to the lagoon side. Be careful!

Always a favorite when we are in Vero. Well kept trail and bridges. Do have to stay aware for gators since you have lagoon on both sides of trail, had one lurch out of weeds today. Also saw a spider the size of small dog, resembled a tarantula. Beautiful views of river at the end of the bridge.

The trail is well marked. Following the boardwalk will take you over the swamp and end with a panoramic view of the Indian River Lagoon. One of the nice features of the park is that we could bring our dog.
