The Juniper Creek Trail is the third segment of the Blackwater State Forest's extension of the Florida Natural Scenic Trail. The southern terminus of the trail shares a point with the Blackwater River Trail in the Blackwater River State Park and the northern terminus is located on Red Rock Rd and shares this point with the southern terminus with the Jackson Red Ground Trail. Much like the Blackwater River Trail, the Juniper Creek Trail continues the same beautiful scenery from the Blackwater State Forest, but with the added splendor of the Juniper Creek. Please note that there are more service road crossings on the Juniper Creek Trail than the Blackwater River Trail, but this trail is more remote. This trail contains the first shelter along the Blackwater River Trail extension of the Florida Trail. The Juniper Creek Trail can be accessed from the southern terminus after a short hike from the Blackwater State Park campground (day use parking is available), via multiple service roads, and at the northern terminus on Red Rock Rd (free parking available). It is recommended to park at Red Rock Rd. and hike the trail as a south bound trail going in and out (13.2 miles) or beautifully paired with the Blackwater River Trail for a longer day hike (13.1 total miles). While parking at Red Rock Rd. has no associated costs, parking at the state park or the campgrounds comes with a $4.00/day use fee. Please plan accordingly.

I love this trail! I have to have hiked this bad boy 3-4 times this year. Pairs well with the Blackwater River Trail for a ~13mi. day hike.
