These trails are meant to accommodate horses and so are more manicured and flat than I was looking for and so this wasn’t my favorite. If that’s what you’re looking for then this place will be great, but I was looking for something closer to Phipps.

Followed a deer for bout 2-300 yards he just would not be scared off. Made enough noise and got close enough he finally distanced himself. Definitely a young buck could see small spikes.

Beautiful trail but definitely not a road bike trail as it states in description. A mountain bike is a must as it is grass, sand, gravel & single track only...no paved paths whatsoever.

WalkingGreat!

This is an extremely well maintained County Park with lots of multi-use trail options. I would consider this a walking trail for non-experienced hikers. The full car park is a little off-putting but there is so much space that you will see people but not feel they are on top of you. You can change the start and finish of this loop to make the hike closer to 5-miles or more. The yellow blazed trail will send you through several different types of habitat and different trail surfaces. Nice easy trail. Despite what the map suggests, you do not see much of the lake, except through the trees. I wish there were a few overlooks.

Trail was a nice walk. The loop was probably 40% shaded and 60% not shaded. The loop is wide and easily marked.
