This trail is very easy to walk. I did not see much wildlife but there were a lot of different trees, pines and ferns. There are also a lot of trees along the trail that have fallen due to the hurricane, but the trail has been cleared to allow people to hike it.

Close to Anhinga trail, but very different habitat and is much less crowded. Shaded, short, flat. Hardwood hammock.

A nice, short, informative and shaded loop trail that is easy to combine with the Anhinga Trail.

This is a short walk on a paved trail, but there are some nice sights along the way. Bug spray is a must. No fewer than seven mosquitoes were buzzing around me at any time. Thanks to bug spray, I didn't get a single bite- but I shudder to think what would have happened without. There are some informative plaques along the trail, so this is great for the curious tourist unfamiliar with south Florida's environment.

Interesting little trail with information about the local flora of the Everglades. Easy paved trail great for an introduction to the area.

Nice shaded walk to get out of the sun, and read about some of the plants that grow there. Right next to the Anhinga trail.

It's more of a walk than a hike--compacted dirt with some roots thrown in as a possible trip hazard. The trail goes through a hammock and highlights plants and things unique to the Everglades. Very pretty, great for the kids. Just keep in mind this trail is directly next to Anhinga Trail, and that trail is littered with gators and birds as as the season turns into summer with rainy and wet gators have more access to this trail.
