completed 4/29/20. Nice day overall wasn't hot. The trail was completely dry. Even the canal to the left was just mudd. There were plenty gators, however. Other than those gators not much wildlife. Saw some panther tracks, though. Completed the red trail this time. Good trail. Will eventually try the 12 mile course.

It was hot, but beautiful. We enjoyed our 8 miles of hiking, and it included seeing several large alligators, a blue egret, turtles, a water moccasin, and a variety of smaller birds. Bugs were not a problem. Enough water is a necessity. Wear a hat.

Fun trail, well marked, trail takes you through a lot of different ecosystems. A little wet in some spots on the blue trail but only about ankle deep. Didn’t see any wildlife but lots of panther, deer, raccoon and other animal footprints in the mud. Like everyone said not a lot of shade, bring lots of water and a big hat or umbrella.

9/7/19 - I did the orange to yellow trail and took the blue to loop back. About 8.5 miles. It’s a very nice trail with a lot of wild life but I recommend going early in the morning since there’s very little shade. Also, bring about 2-3 liters of water per person. It’s very hot. Definitely saving this to do it again.

completed this trail on 7/21/19. very nice trail that changes scenery a few times. Very well marked. Saw some rabbits, turkey, deer, birds and heard hogs grunting around. Lots of deeps puddles on the trail our shoes and socks got soaked. Blistering hot. Go early or go late. We did the yellow trail which was about 6 miles and took us just under 4 hours.

Not a bad hike. Most of the trail is in the sun, so make sure to bring plenty of water and some sunscreen. I went on a super hot day, so not a lot of wildlife was out.

Tried this hike on Monday (April 1st), and we like it. A lot of it was right in the sun so definitely be prepared with sunscreen/hats/lots of water! We didnt see a ton of wildlife but still had a great time.

Not necessarily difficult hiking. Spent a miserable night without tent next to the old CCC cabin on the loop. Mosquitoes had a feast.

Beautiful hike but not for the faint of heart or ill prepared. Don't forget hat, sun screen and plenty of water. shade is scarce along some points. You'll be in a remote area with lots of wildlife so keep alert. Saw dozens of gators, Turkey and tons of bear scat. Be careful and go slowly and enjoy!

Beautiful weather, perfect time hiking. Lovely area to experience South Florida nature. We observed alligators on the side of the road and many birds local to the area

Lots of hiking to be had here. Birds and gators on the left side of the service road. The blue trail has some nice prairie views. Campsites are big and well maintained .....also had a picnic table which was surprising.
