HikingBugsGreat!

The beginning of trail made me worry about what I was getting into. I tried hiking this trail before and it was wet and muddy so I gave up early. This time the trail started off narrow and over grown. However after passing the camp site the trail really opens up. Following the apps preloaded trail I would say less than half the trail is shaded. It has not really rained in months and there was still mud but was easy to navigate around. The last part of the trail actually follows a moderately used dirt road into a camping site with travel trailers and a paid attendant who was very friendly towards me. I marked the start of the road hike with a pin on my recording. I did see people fishing at Crabgrass Creek but did not pass any other hikers. I was hiking on a Wednesday.

Loved it! Exposed in parts but nice shade in at least half. Pretty little wildflowers in March.

My husband and I hiked almost six miles of this trail. It was well shaded for most of it and a moderate rating for level is accurate. We encountered quite a bit of mud, lots of roots to traverse and quaint bridges crossing over Crabgrass Creek. Lots to look at and a great way to appreciate nature. You really are in the middle of nowhere. We only encountered a few people on the path in almost three hours.

Beautiful hike! Covers a vast array of Florida biomes, from creeks and marsh to wide open grasslands. Had a wonderful time on this hike. I do recommend bringing some water proof socks if you intend to keep to the main trail listed on this app; it can get pretty marshy. The second mile or so was completely washed out, the trail was indistinguishable from the creek you pass a little bit before. I was able to make my way through on the sides of the trail but at times the paths forward that weren’t a mire of mud and marsh were very slim. The Cemetery Road service road is an easier route back to the start if you don’t want to go through it twice.

It was nice. It was wet about 1.5 miles in for about a 1/4 mile. Other than that good hiking mostly covered

Awesome and lots of shade. Only hiked about 2 miles. Saw 2 guys with a rifle and a long knife. Assumed they were hunters. Didn’t feel comfortable with that. I was hiking g alone with one of my grand dogs.

I Like many others have said the first half of the trail is very much overgrown. I walked on the road (which is completely in the sun) about a half mile up to the camp and began walking through the long grass in an attempt to find a trail. After finding the trail, not even 5 minutes in I heard several loud gunshots which caused my dog to turn back and not allow me to go further. Guess I will need to avoid areas that have people actively hunting if walking the dog.

Super wet and deep in areas. Avoid the first part of the trail to the camp. Take the road and save yourself. From the trailhead to the camp is hard to follow in areas and has deep water (calf deep), sticker bushes and lots of over growth.

It was very nice, beautiful scenery, lots of wildlife. We saw deer, turkey, a black snake, and it’s well marked. With the help of the app it’s easier though. There’s a bathroom in the entrance and plenty of parking and picnic tables.

Really pretty! Definitely good idea to enter around the camp site- too overgrown the 1st 1/2 mile. Muddy but fun. The dog loved it!

This trail was nice, pretty shady, nice bigs and animals along the trail, near bridges. I would recommend following the all trails map and bypass the first bit of the trail, it’s a bit over grown and spider web-y. But once you pass the camping area, the trail gets nicer. We ended up going down a different trail, as the main one was super muddy, but overall a nice hike.

Great trail. Very shaded and well marked. We did the trail with our two kids 7 and 4. Watch out for roots on the first part of the trail after that it opens up more. We turned around at a flooded area but it was just right for us, got a 3-4 mile hike in. Will come back again!

I could not walk all the way as I had planned as there was too much water in the trail and no real way around. I will have to come back when it's dry.

Had to carry my bike across the bridges over Crabgrass Creek. Would have liked to finish the trail but there was water over the trail a couple of miles in. Ended up riding the dike for a few miles down and back.
