As of 7/17/20 there was quite a bit of mud on the trail but most of the spots with standing water were further out along the river and there was nothing impassable. There was only one spot with no way around and even then it was only a couple of steps in clear ankle-deep water. The first 2.25 miles or so is a straight shot out to the river, completely shaded. Maybe the first half mile is through a narrow wooded space between two neighborhoods, so it really doesn't get interesting until after that. The best parts come after you cross a short bridge and turn left to follow the south bank of the river. I saw two large gators swimming along the way and crossed paths with one deer. Somewhat surprisingly I came out tick-free even though the other bugs were bad in spots. Overall, really good trail and probably 90-95% of it is shaded, so even on a summer afternoon the heat and humidity was manageable.

Outback loop is pretty technical for beginners with lots of large roots and steep inclines/declines. But lots of fun and pretty scenery, definitely will ride again.

Going down the Flagler trail was nice and easy, we saw two bikers come out from the right on an orange marked trail so we decided to go where they came hoping it would be more challenging. Well it was, there was a fork that we took a right at and after that point I assume they came from the left. It was very difficult, trail was narrow and lots of large roots. There was multiple places with fallen trees we had to carry our bikes over. We ended up popping out near the Jones trail head and on the end we came out the trail was marked for hikers only but nothing indicated that on the direction we went. Lots of good trails back in this area so I'll definitely be back, just won't do that one again.

The first two miles of the route that is actually mapped out here is easy-going since it’s the Flagler Trail (lots of dogs, families, etc). Then, as you start on the Outback loop, it takes a brief route along the river. You go through areas that are moderate with brush, but also through an open area with a narrow path meant for bikes. This is very much a mountain biking trail, but it’s fun to hike! Just be aware of the bikes coming from behind you. I took Zombie & it was beautiful, as well.

Good trails but seems to be more for bikers when you get towards the river. I still hiked it— just be on the lookout.

wonderful trail. only the first half of the straight long stretch is not the best due to the clise prximity with human activities... road noise, target practice, people back yards... just stick to it, it will turn into a wild paradise with lots of wildlife :)

Had a great time! The trail was a perfect mixture of maintained and wild! Most of it is covered in shade, but with these beautiful Florida winter temperatures it was spectacular! A real treasure of old Florida!

Trail is beautiful this time of year. It has been dry so you can access some parts that are usually washed out. Always a fun day on the Flagler Trail.

Took the two bridges trail at dawn, it’s about 7 miles total. I saw about 10 dear along the way, some pretty large. Watch for the bikers, I almost got nailed on a blind turn.

Nice trail but why does it start at mile marker 4? And it would be nice if there was more info on the side trails
