I’ve been here before and it’s an awesome trail. However at this time it’s currently mating season, so this best portion of the trail is closed off. Other than that it’s still pretty cool!

We only went a mile and back because of imminent thunderstorms. We will definitely come back to do more of the lake trail. Sad we can’t bring our dog!!!

One of the best walking trails in Polk County. Plenty of wildlife to see. Decent amount of space on the trails to socially distance.

Love this simple little trail. Plenty of shade on this trail. We saw tons of butterflies and a baby armadillo.

This is a great park and a must-visit for wildlife seekers and birdwatchers. This hike is teeming with majestic birds and a number of alligators. It also offers a variety of environments and scenery. As of June 16 a portion of this trail’s Alligator Alley area is closed, but the majority of the hike is open to the public. Bring a camera!

Loved this place!! Maintained great! Lots of trails. This just made one of my favorite hiking spots for FL Trails that connect with other trails. All the trails were very nice and well-maintained. Lots of signs so you knew which trails went which way. But I love the map fest of this app!! There were a few trails that required proper clothing to go through but we will be back for those fun trails another day. Shorts and tanks tops may not be the best clothing.

Very groomed trail but not for the faint hearted. There were lots of people which I guess was good considering the amount of gator activity. There are two stretches of the trail which cut through swampy waters, both hosting gators. The second part had upwards of 10 gators with some bathing on the banks as you walk past , no more than 10ft away. I don’t know if it’s mating season for gators , the fact that the parks have been closed because of COVID or this is just how it is there but it definitely caught me off gaurd. The overall trail is not challenging and you have cell service through out it for GPS.

Feb 2020 - amazing, easy, accessible trail. Saw armadillo, cranes (and a ton of other waterfowl) gators, turtles, snakes and raccoons. The lookout into the lake is amazing and the trees, flowers and Spanish moss are incredible. truly fun and breathtaking.

We went to Alligator Alley on Thanksgiving. There were some people but it wasn't crowded. The walk was very easy. If you're a bird lover, there are lots to see and hear. We saw 3 very big alligators and 1 baby, plus lots of turtles. Great place to explore. We'll be back.
