Starting with open and muddy. Spotting the trail in the middle section is difficult as it goes through close, overgrown trees. The last third is similar to the first with mud. Walking stick and boots highly recommended.

The trail is the driest I've seen it all season, but still has 3-4 inches of mud and areas of standing water. Good distance. Birds, crabs, and bugs with lots of animal tracks. Hiking poles/walking stick, boots, and sunscreen suggested.

Scenic and quiet through coastal prairie and hardwood hammock, ending at a peak of Florida Bay. Bring a bug jacket and head net because the mosquitos are pretty heavy.
