It was a nice walk. not too long. We did not see much other than squirrels. It is shady and accessible.

Not much here really. The trail really starts near the Chief Tomoka statue at the end of the park road and winds through a wooded area near an inlet from the Halifax River, NOT from the park store where the map says its does. You could start from the abandoned museum across the road from the store though. The sign says the nature trail is half a mile, but this map (and my recording) follows a dirt road out to a picnic and fishing area. That portion is exactly that: a dirt road with places off to both sides for people to fish. Somewhat surprisingly though I ran into a couple of deer out here and I saw several in the park.

Trail runs in and around a camp ground/ little bait store/ museum....you have to pay to enter the park itself though:( the trail is decent, and there are some interesting statues and docks... you are surrounded by water the entire way, which is nice and provides lots of opportunity to see wildlife. there are lots of little off shoots and dead end loops to explore... we had fun! there is nothing really to complain about. I’d do it again.

This is an easy loop trail that starts and ends at the museum (closed for lack of funds) It is a nature trail that turns around at the vandalized statute of Chief Tomokie. One side of the trail is inland the other follows the Halifax River. Can be busy on weekends but few visitors on weekdays.
