60 % of trail has been controlled burned.. several times through low lying areas the trail was completely under water. Recent storms have damaged a few of the foot bridges. With a little work and allowing time for the undergrowth to grow back this would be a great trail,

Not bad. Recommend early spring or early fall. We did it middle of assume and the heat stress is worse than the worse elevation change on the AT. We did 10 miles here where we could've done 25 in the Shenandoah. Don't underestimate waste consumption. We stopped at every lake to fill up. Trail is very well marked but doesn't seem to have alot of traffic, so keep an out for the blazes and bring a map. We talked to the 'Camp Host' at Camel Lake and he kept an eye on the vehicle and made sure we made it back. Camel Lake has good facilities and the lake is a good swim. Happy trails.
