Very nice trail, we hiked it backwards through the Long Leaf Pines first. Even in this dry weather there was still mud, when it’s rainy I can see this trail being messy. Lots of side spurs on the creek sand bars and to the ponds.

Great short hike. This location allows for other trails to be hiked by close proximity. I hiked with my 8yr old son and read all the placards about the trees and vegetation. Be aware we also encountered 2 water moccasins. 1st 2.5 ft. 2nd 4-5 ft. both were sited near water and close to trail.

Easy trail, plenty of different terrains from flat to roots. Elevation doesn’t change much, but the highlight is it goes right along the rivers edge and the beach.

The trail is short but does not dissapoint in any way. Well marked and cleared. Thumbs up to the person(s) who maintains the trail.

Nice short day hike. Bring a rod to fish from some great spots on the way. One low section near the river is often washed out (for 15 to 40 feet depending) so either be prepared to either bushwack a little, get your feet wet, or wear high boots.

Beautiful scenery near the river, oxbow lakes, and then you go just a few feet up in elevation to pine forest and woodlands area. It's like hiking two different trails. Lots of little streams and creeks, we even seen a deer and a black bear off in the distance

Went here for a little afternoon day hike and it did not disappoint. One of the better trails around this area. Would definitely recommend.
