Black Bear Wilderness Area Trail is a 7.3 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Sanford, Florida that features a river and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

January 16, 2021Well marked and offers a safe and wonderful hike for many different levels of hikers/walkers. From the average stroller, to the photographer at heart, to children, this hike combines flat terrain with wooden walkways over water to sloping land and light climbs over tree roots. Easy to forget that you are just on the outskirts of Orlando.
January 16, 2021January 16, 2021January 16, 2021January 15, 2021Only went 2.5 miles in. Some of the trail is on a bridge walkway and some on the dirt trail. We saw lots of birds and some wild pigs. It’s a pretty trail but there are some stumps and roots on the dirt sections.

January 9, 2021My favorite trail in Central Florida for trail running. It’s technical, beautiful and shady. I typically see otters, wild boar, deer and a few snakes. In the summertime I have heard gators, but have not actually seen one.
