Big Cypress Bend Boardwalk Trail is a 1.2 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Ochopee, Florida that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. We pulled into the drive and there was just a little sign saying the boardwalk was closed and did not give a reason.

Easy boardwalk trail with a pond at the end, usually has alligators. Also has a Bald Eagle nest on the left side about half way

Great walk through lush cypress and palm jungle. Lots of birds. Saw egrets, herons, a bald eagle and several large woodpeckers, plus a red-shouldered hawk close to the boardwalk.
