I love that they've added more boardwalks. The view of the lake throughout this trail, is very relaxing. It's a great place to clear your mind.

Nice hike around the lake. Trail is wide and blazed clearly throughout. Nice scattered fishing spots along the way. Adding this to my favorites list.

Nice trail and maintained very well. Trail is well marked and easy to follow no matter which direction you go.

Great trail but...they recently did a control burn and most of the trail is scorched trees and underbrush. While necessary for the health of the forest it was kinda depressing. I’ll be back but I’ll give it a few months to get some green back.

Great trail for a short day hike there are a couple low spots where it's a little muddy but there are benches for you to rest at and the boardwalks over the swamp areas are well maintained.

Very quiet. Mud spots but had benches and rest areas to accommodate everyone that wants to explore.

I always wear waterproof shoes especially since I came just after a storm. It’s what you would expect from a lovely NWF trail. Occasional rocks to prevent washouts that isn’t overdone.

This place is perfect! Well kept campgrounds and really peaceful trail around the lake. Although you can't swim in the water because Gators are pretty prominent here.

My new favorite small trail! I'm coming back with my hammock to stay overnight. We seen lots of pitcher plants, flowers, butterflies and of course spiders. Either the Bald Eagle followed us around the lake as we hiked, or there is more than on Bald Eagle hanging around. Also, songbirds, woodpeckers, etc. We seen an armadillo, a few lizards and a turtle. The trail is very well maintained with great views of the lake. This hike was in September

EASY TRAIL! Hiked this clear sunny morning, at the end of February. Very peaceful, easy walk, with very little changes in elevation & clearly marked. My son pointed out a small gator watching those fishing on the lake in boats, gator "slides", turtles, squirrels, birds, jumping fish and a little beaver with its damn. Loop Trail follows around the lake, has lots of benches to stop and rest, and boardwalk areas over some muddy ground. Only encountered two areas that that still need some development, and got my shoes a little muddy. Gravel has been added to many parts of the trail to prevent this, for sure footing in muddy areas. Small access roads on other side of lake from camping area and parking, have boat ramps and cool areas to also camp away from the bathrooms and RV crowd. Wear bug spray. : )

We had a great time on this hike, about a four mile loop with great views of this pretty lake. We saw pitcher plants, what a treat.

Excellent trail that circumnavigates Bear Lake. Well-maintained and well-marked with white blazes. Features nice longleaf pine forest. Little perceivable elevation change. Has some nice short boardwalks that carry you over the lake's headwaters. Best done in winter to avoid heat and bugs.

Absolutely gorgeous little loop trail around the lake. Lots of birds; cormorants, kingfishers, warblers, woodpeckers, robins, nuthatches, and grebes. There were many recently built boardwalks over the low lying areas, and gravel added to mud prone areas. Many of the roads that lead to the lake have small concrete 'ramps' for aluminum boats and kayaks. Very peaceful (when the navy trainer helos aren't out flying). Part of the Florida Trailwalkers Program.
