Great scenic trails. However, I thought the beginner trails were a bit too narrow in parts. Additionally, the sandy path to get to the trails can be a hazard if you're not paying attention. Definitely enjoyed the paths toward the back more. Very well maintained and I highly recommend for riders of all skill levels. A good place to build confidence.

This is a good place for trail running, etc., but Balm Boyette Park is best for mountain biking. The single-track trails are for bike use only. There are maps posted all over the place, so it's hard to get lost. Be sure to bring plenty of water!

I ride this trail system about 3 times a week ,if you hit all the trails you can do about about 15-20 miles so I don't know where they get only 3.5 . The best trail all the way in back is Ridgline and is closed during the rainy summer but plenty of others out there that are great . Great place to train since there is plenty of flat double track and difficult trails for a good mix. Contact the local swamp club to go on a group ride tour around the park since it's a big place and easy to get lost.

Awesome trails - took the kids & they handled the green trails no problem. It's a 2 mile ride on a dirt road from parking lot to trails entrance. Go to swamp mountain bike club website for trail maps . Def do again !

This was a nice find during a business trip to the Tampa area. I was looking for a trail and AllTrails prompted me with this one, I wasn't disappointed, and at the time I went, near sunset on a weekday, there were very few others on the trails.

There are about 3 entries for the Balm-Boyetter natural area here. This series of trails offers dirt roads, miles of open scrub and swamp land as well as several single track mountain bike trails throughout the area. Good for trail running or hiking too. I saw 5 cyclists while I was there. Lots of room to get away out here.

Nice group of trails suitable for trail running, or better yet, mountain biking. No real hills, but lots of open space for riding or running.

One of the best trail systems in the area. Swamp really does a great job at maintaining the trails. Watch out for rattle snakes. I had two very close encounters

Looooved my first visit last month! Aftet coming back from Balm Boyette I fee like all my local trails, such as VK and Amelia are kids play (with exception of Markham of course). Man my wife loved it there too, the scenery, how the intermediates take you for a fast ride around the swamp. The Armadillos and Gators give the trail a nice touch of nature.

The entrance is long and not fun unless you take the first beginner single to your left, and even then, its still a b**ch to get to where the fun really begins, but you can use that as warm up I guess!

I think I didn't do all sections cause we were running out of time, but the most memorable one was the Big Drop lol! Stoked!!!!

An excellent trail system with many different types of trails for all riders. Cons are 2 mile ride on dirt road that has deep, catastrophic sand for a few hundred yards before getting to the trail system, signage is limited, parking is limited and no facilities other than an pit toilet. 5 stars in every other way! Nice trails with plenty of miles for all rider abilities and interests. Generally smooth flowing trails--still plenty of roots, but not as technical as nearby Alafia River State Park. I have had my 8 year old daughter ride 10-12 miles without much difficulty. Large system and long entrance makes for longer, higher mileage rides.

If you are a mountain biker...this is the place to be! Rated one of the top bike trails in the US, these routes are amazing! I consider myself a solid rider and had difficulty with some of the blues. My husband did the blacks with no issues but the double blacks gave him some problems. Overall that setting is beautiful - huge oak trees, wooded trails and lots of ponds. We went during the week, so the traffic was light. However, we heard during the weekends that it gets very crowded. Helmets are required and bring lots of water and bug spray. We stayed at the Alafia River State Park and biked less than a mile over to the start of the Loops. Awesome trails...highly recommend! (link to the bike trail map is below)

This trail was one of the best for Mountain Biking. I complete the Palmetto trail which is divided into 4 sections. North East/West and South East/West. The total mileage including the 2 miles to the beginning of the trail was 10 miles. I didn't even get to ride half the trails yet so I'll be back. There are also hiking trails and I also hike so I will be back for those trails too. For the hiking trails look for the board in the parking lot. I has a picture of the trail map. It looks like the trail starts right behind the sign. For the mountain biking you might want to download the trail map in your phone or print a copy before going. They are marked well but some of them connect through the fire roads and it can be a little confusing. The trail map is very good.

Great place to ride for endurance. With a little experience it's challenging but not dangerous.

Boyette scrub located South central Florida, South Eastern part of Hillsbourgh county. The park consists of nearly 6000 acres when combined with the adjacent Tripple Creek park. There is approximately 25 miles of Mountain bike trails located throughout. If you are a mountain bike enthusiast this place is for you. The trails are maintained well by Swamp mountain bike clubs the second Saturday of every month. More info about the club can be obtained at
I hiked during the middle of the week in pouring down rains but still managed to cross paths with one die hard biker and another hiker. Evert the mountain biker told me of his experience on the trails and said his ride was demanding but excellent. He was back riding trails with names like the lockness, upper lockness, the canyon, and the abyss.
The park has a 6 mile loop that I had intended to hike but there are no clear markings for the trail. However the bike trails all have placards of their names and I hiked through many of those. On the northeast most side of the park I came across the only other map I could find showing all the bike trails in the park and my current location. Thank goodness for that.
Alot of the trails I took were quite beautiful. Some lead around lakes and others out into the scrub a few even through the swampy areas. On the northeast end is located a couple of picnic tables located on a scenic overlook of one of the lakes. Further around I ran across a Bridge and later a small foot bridge.
Overall Great hike even in the rain which for Florida is way cooler. I give the park 5 stars for bikers. Only three for hikers only because the hiking trail is not marked that I could find and is lost in the confusion of all the bike trails. But the bike trails were excellent for hiking. Also more marks showing the way out and current position would be nice.
