Swamp Forest Trail is a 6.8 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Bear, Delaware that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
Easy, flat ground but never boring. Gorgeous views all year and amazing wildlife seasonally.
love riding here it's a easy trail ride however if you go after a good rain it will be very muddy
The trail surface is forest floor and sometimes improved with gravel. It's well suited for trail running and mountain biking. Although the trail winds around the pond, it's mostly a walk in the woods, with several places to access the pond along the route. The bugs were out in force, and the pond level was high and encroaching on the trail in numerous places. Much of the forest floor sections were wet and muddy; hence the name Swamp Forest Trail. We walked the entire loop in about 2hrs, 40 min. at about a 21 minute mile pace. Bathrooms are available at the park office, or at the trail head.
Trail was good not scenic really at all, more for biking than walking
Love this trail for SS mountain bike and running. I try to get to this gem once a month. Take the trail all the way around in one direction then repeat in reverse for a 14miler! A few different surfaces along the way... Be ware after rain, it's called swamp forest for a reason!
