Bellevue Stroll Trail is a 3.1 mile loop trail located near Wilmington, Delaware and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs and horses are also able to use this trail.
Easy 3 miler in mixed settings on a DuPont Estate Take right at pond to circle smaller pond, right at bridge, past picnic shelters. Turn right to pick up track and follow track to right. Follow path across both roads. Trail between 2 poles after last crossing. Straight to woods, turn right. To cut about 1/2 mile loop, go straight. After loop, trail goes through woods and fields. Cross entrance road and turn left past office. Turn right and follow through community gardens, past green barn. Turn right at T. Look for opening to turn left onto exercise path and follow it back to start.
Do you have to be a Delaware resident? Does anyone know?
Good for family outing and descent 3 mile round distance.
Flat, plenty of parking, family friendly.
Sweet park with varied trails. Some of them are paved and others are not. It's a nice, quiet area.
This is my go-to park for walking. There are several trails inside the park that can accommodate walking, running or biking on paved surfaces, or on unimproved trails through woods. The Northern Delaware Greenway Trail travels from Bellevue to Rockwood and beyond. Search www.delawaregreenways.org for maps. There is a park admission fee, or you can purchase an annual pass.
Nice local trail.
My comments are that unless you are a resident of DE and have a permit, there is a parking fee of $8.00 for out of state residents.
My other comment is that the main loop is crushed stone while the outboard loops are paved. Would be nicer if the trails were all the same surface.
Despite the above, the trails have pleasant scenery, nice open spaces and outdoor facilities such as picnic tables, playground, lake and exercise stations scattered around the main loop.
The Bellevue stroll is a flat 1.125 mile loop around a beautiful pond, large fields, wooded areas, playgrounds and a health circuit. We ran the loop a handful of times in order to reach our 5 mile goal. The wooded areas provided shade along most of the route and parts of the route were filled with the glorious scent of honeysuckle. It's an easy route. Perfect for beginner trail runners.
The route lies in mixed settings on the DuPont estates. Lots of opportunities for the photography hobbyist. There's an amphitheater, horse farm, beautiful buildings, stone walls and gardens.
My only complaint is that the public restrooms were out of order and they only provided one very old rusty porta potty.
It a nice trail that's close to home if you want to get out of the house for a little while.
