Nice view, and rocky trails. wear good sneakers, some hills are quite steep with loose rocks. Tower is closed til further notice:,( overall a good hike
Sunrise Hike. Trail was frozen but when it warms up it will be muddy.
Great overall trail. There are some really muddy parts today but overall well marked and lots of people. Bring a lunch and spectacular views while sitting at the top. The tower is closed currently but still a great place to hike.
If you can find somewhere else to park I’d suggest that. It looked like there was parking just across the road. The entrance to the park is barricaded off and everyone is parking all which ways on both sides of the roads and made it almost impossible to turn around in a SUV. otherwise, very pretty views and highly trafficked. Icy for the first couple of minutes in the trail. My pup and I were VERY muddy.
A lot of ice on the main trails and had to go off trail to find better footing. Otherwise the hike was great with very few people and no wildlife. Clear skies and almost no wind.
You don’t need snowshoes to hike, but it would help with not rolling an ankle.
Always some beautiful views on this trail especially close to sunset.
The Talcott hiking trail sure is a popular one though maybe a little bit too touristy. It’s crowded. The parking is limited. Make sure to go there either very early in the morning or after 4pm when the crowds thinned down. It’s an easy hike with only a small portion from the beginning a little bit steep and rocky. There are multiple scenic outlook spots. The view is very nice. The tower is beautiful. I wished it opened to peek its inside beauty . Overall it’s a nice and pleasant hike.
Very windy up on the mountain! But a nice easy trail. The trail down on the way back was very slick with the leaves but it was a short way down. Gorgeous views!
this is definitely a beautiful spot! the only downside is that it’s always crowded - i came on a thursday afternoon, and there were still tons of people! but, it’s understandable as the views are great and it’s a solid workout. just come earlier in the day.
A little slick with the fallen leaves but beautiful scenery and lookouts! Even saw a bald eagle! Great trail for a day hike.
