Talcott Mountain State Park Loop Trail is a 5.2 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Bloomfield, Connecticut that features a great forest setting and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and backpacking and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Park at Penwood State Forest parking lot. Cross Rt 185 to the blue blazed Metacomet Trail trailhead and hiked a CCW loop to Heublin Tower/Talcott Mt summit. Continue south down Talcott Mt ridge on the Metacomet Trail eventually turning south easterly heading to the north end of Hartford Reservoir #6. Here the trail joins the blue/red Metacomet Bypass Trail. Return north on the Bypass Trail back to the blue blazed Metacomet and return back to start.
