I loved this hike, it is my new favorite! Very close to town and easy to find; the hike was beautiful and gave me memories of hikes I’ve done out in New Hampshire and Vermont. Parts of the hike were tiring such as the uphill parts but slowly and surely it is very worth it. I saw children along the way and a mother with a child on her back - so this hike is family friendly!

HikingGreat!Off trail

Fun, not too hard trail. Flora around the summit made this one pretty interesting with unique lichen and moss. There is an unmarked, fairly clear trail that runs beyond the summit and passes by a few more rock structures before running up to a fire pit, for those interested in some off-roaring this was fun to find!

Very well marked trail, we found it to be on the easier side of moderate. Pretty views.

Definitely easy side of moderate and very enjoyable. Trail was well marked. I especially liked the rope to assist with a short scramble. There was more snow than I anticipated which made parts a bit slippery. The views were nice but not stunning. This would be a nice afternoon family hike.

Neat up and down, then back up again hike. Not crowded at all on a spectacular fall Sunday. Enjoyable 360 degree views from the summit of the surrounding hills. A moderate level hike.

Great shortish hike, well blazed orange trail, no cross trails, easier side of moderate, two false tops before peak, five foot cairn at top, will go back for foliage.

Very well marked trail. Easy to navigate. I would call it a moderate hike. It was steep in a few parts but level in others. The lichen along the path was beautiful.

Very well-marked, diverse trail. The lichens are neat and the rocks up towards the top is pretty cool, too. View from the very top was stunning on a clear more autumn-like day 8/30.

Nice trail with ups and downs throughout. The lichen is very cool to see, very diverse! Cool being able to see the quarry in one direction and the reservoir in Norfolk in the other.

Pretty hike. The lichen up top was very cool and the views from the peak were pretty good. The woods in the beginning are very open with a lot of ferns. Nothing to strenuous with this hike and it took us about an hour and a half with a 2mph average.

Not bad of a trail once you find it its a quick up and back and steep of course. I will say don't do what I did and keep in mind this trail is not in the great mount forest. I looked at the map and hiked for like 7 miles probably and didn't see it so i asked then found out it was not in the forest. If you look on the map before going in it shows the iron trail on the other side of cannon mountain RD. also you can get to that trail two ways before the bend or near the end of the road you will see a kiosk and its got history about the trail its a marked orange. also respect the lichen and moss it said that as you go up. Not much of a view since the trees are so over grown sadly

Toasty warm day, but good terrain mixture all the way to the bedrock/lichen covered dome. Beautiful scenery and a quaint 3 miler that offers some challenge. pups is pooped!

So cool! The lichen forest on the exposed rock at the top is astounding. Please be careful with dogs and kids to preserve the Fragile Rock
