It’s an off leash dog park. Just know that it’s not for hiking if you don’t have a dog just enjoy one of the many MANY other trails where dogs have to be leashed ! Great for pups

Nice little work out & very close to my house....that adds a few just for that.. bunch a lil trails that go off the main trail so u won't get bored. 1 concern I have a small dog and all the dogs were "off" leash at this trail, as they were all well behaved it still made me a lil on edge, just KNOW dogs are OFF leash here! I will come back and do a different trail tho I really liked the 2 steep inclines

Saw a bear at the bottom of the trail to the right. Seemed to be heading towards the rest of the trails. Wasnt tagged & didn’t show any aggression! Other than that, would’ve been a beautiful hike!

I used to hike here a lot but I got tired of having off leash dogs running up on me and sometimes attacking. no one picks up after their dogs or if they do they leave bags on the trail as if parks dept is going to come out &pick up after them. there are also sections of the trails that are washed out partly because locals ride their dirt bikes and quads through there in spite of signs prohibiting it. there are great views in the back woods if you stick it out. It's unusual to find the place un or lightly occupied. Bring a walking stick to help with rocky areas. This is part of the Hoppers/Birge pond Nature Preserve.

Great place to hike with your dog off leash. Easy hike, only a few large hills if you choose to go that way, otherwise hills are easily avoidable. Lots of woods and shade and some good vistas

Parking lot at entrance. NOT 3.8 miles, it’s 2.8 miles. Nice wide trail throughout and had nice scenic views. Went off the path to explore more. Dogs are off leash and path is at times a little rocky or just grass.

Sign says HOPPERS/BIRGE POND Nature Preserve. Don’t come here if you want solitude. People walk their dogs, watch your step! Trail not marked clearly. It’s a fun place to explore without really getting lost.

Great place to hike with your dog. Most of the dogs here are off leash. There are lots of good trails in the woods. Or you can stay in the field section.

It’s a nice hike/walk, has ups and downs. My biggest complaint is that the views you can see are mostly peoples huge houses and some wilderness. To me I want to see more mountains and wilderness instead of giant houses. But other than that it’s a nice hike. Lots of people walking there dogs.
