Hiking

I jinxed it the last 2 hikes, b/c I saw the largest 3 snakes toward the end of my walk, by the wooden bridges here. Aside from the snakes, lots of birds- Herons. warblers and cowbirds. I did see a King Fisher across the parking lot pond/swamp. Parking was ample, seeing there seems to be at least 4 entrances and lots to park in. Overall, this path was pretty to keep me wanting to finish. It didnt just have woods, but plenty of little outlets of water, to put your feet in and relax a little. I did get to sit for a few minutes with the dog at the picnic table by the rec area/Sr Ctr, before finishing the last half of walk. now, this is more of a walk than a hike! The path is dirt and gravel, some tree rooted areas. Which I needed today, after 2 procedures yesterday and the hike I did, this was pretty and fairly easy. Breeze blowing, sun out and a good amount of folks out walking. lots of dogs..... BUT 98% were leashed! (Miracle!?) My dog enjoyed this today as well- he loves water! haha. I enjoyed the couple hours of walking and getting fresh air. My phone said the whole loop was 4.1 for me. I loved the boardwalk in the beginning of the trail, you can see frogs, ducks, turtles and birds. There are garbage cans along the way and the trail is clean! What a nice surprise. I will be back!

Great wide mostly flat. Good for kids and strollers. Well traveled but not overly crowded so good for solo walks.

Walking

Nice trail. Well maintained. Busy, but easy enough to pass single file and feel covid safe. You are almost in constant view of the water. Road noise prevalent through much of the walk. Worth a trip. PARKING - Five places 1) Behind St Pious X Church on Woodtick Road 2) At the end of Scoville Road - this is the boat launch 3) On Nichols Road, where the trail loops around the lower end of the pond. This is a large parking lot across from a town beach. 4) Munson Road, close to the intersection with Wolf Hill Road 5) As marked on All Trails, Bound Line Road

Loved taking our kayaks out in the water. Lots of shady spots along the banks. Some fishing from our Kayaks but not to many nibbles. Circled the entire reservoir and the scenery was beautiful. Swans, ducks, and flock of geese. We will return for more adventures.

First time jogging a 5k since my knee surgery! Felt incredible. Missed opportunity with friends made way for a needed adventure with Quill. Work has been heavy, needed to lighten the load.

Nice trail, has some shade. It’s good for private walks. Not really a main stream trail, so it’s very quite at times. Walked by a fisherman that caught a giant rainbow trout

Great trail nice and wide so that joggers walkers could pass you. Brought our dog and it was perfect because we can move to the side when another dog came by. Lots of shade and considering it’s early in the morning it’s already 72 and humid it was very good.

Nice easy hike and wonderful views of the reservoir! Watch out for one short section that goes along — and crosses —a road before going back into the woods.

Easy, flat 3.5 loop around the reservoir with lots of benches for picnicking, resting. I’ve seen people fishing too. Haven’t done a run here but would be perfect for it.
