Gorgeous January weather for a hike. Parked on Rte 156 across from Devine Wine. Decided to take a trail to the right which was a bit muddy but offered a new experience. I never get tired of hiking at Rocky neck State Park the views are fantastic.

Very nice trail: well marked, well traveled. Beautiful walk along the beach.

Watch for a bunch of side trails. I did this for sky’s the limit. Pretty easy to find the photo locations. Nice walk and nice beach.

Lovely in spite of small branch blow down due to last weeks nor’easter! The beach was gorgeous and well worth the hike. It took us 2 hours but I am 73 and my husband is 88 ! Plus our 9 year old golden retriever! A great walk!

Lovely easy trail with toilet facilities at both ends

Nice shady trail walk. Lost the trail at the turn around point (beach), but picked it up off a roadway.

Very clean trail, more easy than moderate. Opens up to the beautiful views of the beach.

We live nearby and have walked here dozens of times. Main red/blue trails are flat and wide. Some roots and rocks but overall a flat network of trails. A few trails have short, moderate climbs. There is a nice overlook of the Four Mile River and Long Island Sound. Unmarked trails are worth exploring in summer and winter since most are within the bounds of the main trail system. Worst that could happen is that you run into a main trail, water or other unmarked trails. After leaves have fallen makes it very hard to find the unmarked trails. Lots of oak, hickory, maple and birch trees offer plenty of shade in summer. Below the canopy is loaded with mountain laurel. Come in June to see the laurel blossoms. We only passed two other walkers on our most recent weekend visit here.

Decent walk, kinda brushy, nothing crazy. Didn’t see Tony’s nose but found the look out of the sound. Too many trees to really see it tho.

Like this trail a lot. My only complaint is that the trails are a little confusing and not marked as well as other trails. But what a view you get if you go all the way to the beach!

This is a little gem in Southeastern Connecticut that is a wonderful place for families to hike, swim, and or picnic. The well marked woodsy trails are very easy and suitable for children of all ages. We hiked this today and enjoyed a picnic lunch at the rear of the pavilion overlooking Long Island Sound. This was about the halfway point of the hike so was the perfect place to pause and grab a bite. The red trail leads through a conservation marshy area that featured a pair of cranes in their natural habitat as well as several osprey nests. This family friendly hike as something for everyone.

This was a lovely short hike for a sunny February day. A little bit of slush along the trail added to its charm.

A really good trail for families. I have a 14, 11, and 8 year old and they loved it. It is mostly flat and spends about 80% of the time in the woods. The other part is at the half way point at the beach/pavilion area. It was a very crowded beach day and I was the only person with a hiking bag. They have picnic tables at the beach area so we were able to have snacks/lunch there. We saw only one person in the wooded area but a TON of people at the beach area.

Nice. easy side of moderate. would have been a little bored but we took the gold trail for a rockier path and better views. the old pavilion was really neat and enjoyed climbing on the jette at the beach. a little humid and 79 degress.
