Peak Mountain, also called Copper Mountain, is a traprock (volcanic) mountain located in East Granby. The trail follow the ridge of the mountain and offers great views. It is part of the Metacomet trail and there areas to park at either end. The trail rises steeply and then evens out as you reach the ridge. There you'll see the first of many spots to stop and take in the view (most people don't go further than this, so the rest of the trail is quiet!). Interesting geology (check out Wiki), great views, and not crowded! Great for dogs!

Good hike overall. The trail can be a bit skinny at certain points. Our dogs did well too even with the hills. I would not recommend this trail if you don't hike a lot with your dog or if your dog pulls. There are some very Rocky parts and small sections with cliffs.

Very nice trail. It's a bit steep at points so be careful with dogs pulling you up or down the hill. Great view at the top! Bring a picnic lunch but watch for spiders on the rock!

Great trail for a nice morning jaunt. Take the dogs and get out there. Some wonderful views!!! You can keep going at Peaked Mountain and stay on the Metacomet or turn around and return. Have fun and walk safely!!

This was the first hike my wife and I did using the AllTrails app. The beginning is the “steepest” part which isn’t bad and gets your heart pumping. The rest of the trail is perfect with gentle ups and downs all the way to the summit. Makes it easy to keep moving until you find a spot to stop and take in the views. Very well marked. Great for dogs. Only downside would be that all the overlook views along the way have housing throughout. Friendly people who don’t mind waiting and letting faster travelers pass. A modest pace will get you to the end and back in about 2 hours.

This was an awesome hike. The hill at the beginning was rough, but once you get to the top is is pretty flat with a slight incline. Beautiful views over East Granby with some beautiful overlooks. Also, we could see the planes take off from Bradley!

Great views to the west and the occasional airplane make this a very visual hike. The first 0.3m is all climb but after that the trail is well packed and less aggressive with elevation. Very nice biome at the top.

Nice, easy walk. The trail was well maintained and the markings were clear. There were some nice vistas that showed off the fall foliage which was beautiful

Nice and well maintained trail. The rocks are gorgeous. Reaching the first summit takes nearly 30-40 minutes. Views are amazing from there. Bring binoculars.

Beautiful trail with great summit views. I wouldn’t call this a moderate hike but it definitely gets your heart rate up.

Steep from the trail head, but nice when you reach the trail. Well marked and maintained.

Starts out quite steep from the road but then levels out. We parked a car in Sunrise Park in Suffield and kept going until we met a trail that led to the park. This part of the Metacomet seems quite busy on nice days.

Nice hike -- starts with a steep incline for about 500 feet but then it flattens out with some gentle hills. The peak is not the end though and you can keep going, and going, and going.. since this trail is part of Metacomet. Don't know where it ends, but we did about 3 miles in and back. The views are pretty and they will only get prettier with spring coming:). There were some patches of snow once we got past the peak, but nothing too bad. The terrain past the peak is much hillier so keep that in mind if you want to continue once you reach the peak. Overall, nice experience, not too crowded, interesting terrain, easy access, easy parking.

A few wide vistas where you can see the fall foliage. Moderate hike with a couple loop systems at the northern side before new england trail hits asphalt again on 169 I believe. otherwise straight in straight out like most of the blue trail sections. Hike stays close to the side of the mountain. Not crowded and there is a tent site you camp at...read the NET regulations and don't be a litter bug...one of few places you can legally camp on NET. Don't ruin it for everyone else in the state!

the hike is ok. We started on the suggested intersection of 20 and Newgate road. The trail is easy to follow. We hike 3 miles ,before turning around. Took us around 2h with 20minute stop trying to take a picture of a calliope. LOL It has a area for street parking; and if that is full you can still park by the shoulders. Trail is light traffic and well maintained. No much to see; most view are partly obstructed, and you never feel much in nature with airport noise in the background, as well as the road right there. Most views are of houses below. The Peak is ok, with some far point views. Is a good "in my backyard" hike, but nothing to drive to (we drove from new haven)

Enjoyable. Not for those who are not big on hiking. Requires some good stamina.
