In addition to the blue-blazed trail, both red- and yellow-blazed trails ascend to the ridgeline of Mt. Lamentation. The yellow trail ascends from the white-blazed trail to a poorly marked intersection with the Mattabesett Trail near one of the best overlooks. The red trail turns sharply away from the blue trail as it passes a deep canal cut through stone, passes by an old shelter, and intersects the blue-blazed trail at the ridge line.

Took Blue blaze out, yellow to white blaze back. Great views along ridgeline. Mount Lamentation doesn’t have a great climatic view point, unless my map was inaccurate. Yellow blaze is all loose trap rock and mud. Shaded pine groves along the reservoir on white blaze was so peaceful. Overall a nice short hike.

The lesser of the two peaks accessible from Giuffrida Park. Still a nice hike with some good views.

Hiked for 1st time on first great day in May: trails were muddy and rocky but the views from the ridge top are spectacular

We hiked up the blue trail on the left and came down yellow on the right. Would highly recommend just going back down the blue trail... yellow was flooded and muddy majority of the way and a TON of loose rocks.
