Metacomet Trail Loop is a 2.4 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Southington, Connecticut that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and trail running. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

This is a short loop that starts off with the Blue/Orange marked trails, and then deviates when it hits the green trails left to head back to the parking lot. You walk along the street just a moment to reach the other side of the damn.

We enjoyed this hike, and I wanted to comment on the “easy” rating. There was a big climb at the start and plenty of places to scramble up and down the rocks. So, depending on the age and/or fitness level of the hikers, it may feel more like a “moderate” hike.

Such a lovely hike and the views from the peak and the sunset opportunity spot where phenomenal. To cloudy for a sunset unfortunately but simply amazing.
