Not at ALL as described. It was much steeper than advertised. The gain was fast and the trail should have had more switchbacks. You could hear the road for half of the ascent. I wouldn’t have done this hike had I known what it was really like as I have bad knees and try to avoid significant incline. It was also heavily trafficked despite being listed as light. We entered from the point the app takes you to on Apple Maps.

We had a really nice hike. Suggest parking at Hill-stead museum (trails open to public) and cutting over to Metacomet that way, don't have to park on Rt. 6. We went out and back and hiked Hill-stead's delightful Woodland Trail as well to see the sheep! There is a very rocky section as mentioned and when you near Rt. 6 it's very steep to the road. We decided to turn around at that point since we were almost there and not do the steep part. There's one other turn on the trail that could be vertigo-inducing, it's a sharp turn on rocks that makes you feel like you *could* pitch over the side down the hill! All in all a very nice hike today.

I particularly enjoyed the section of the trail closest to route six. As it approached route four, it wound through some nice places but you could tell you were near residences - not so much of a wilderness experience. Be aware that it does require about a 10th of a mile walk along busy route 6 and another road crossing later on. Also, there are parts of the trail that are quite rocky and slippery. There’s one little section where there’s a significant drop off so watch your footing. Otherwise, pretty nice.parts the tra

Hiked trail early, starting at about 7:30 am. Nice comfortable hike went 2 miles from Rt 6 towards Rt.4. Steep slope to begin, easy along the way, nice views of the Farmington Reservoir

Watch your ankles. Lots of rocks on parts of this trail.

This trail was an enjoyable challenge. Not many people were on the trail, although it did cross two roadways at which point was confusing to get back on the trail. Also the GPS tracker went crazy at certain points. I would not recommend it for children, but is good to walk solo as it is quiet and calming.
