I like that we got a little off track. It added some length to the hike itself. Beautiful overcast day. Vultures were waiting for one of us to kick it the whole way. Lol!
Nice evening hike at lantern hill with Adam, Ryker, Lori and lochlen. The turkey vultures were awesome. Got to watch a wood pecker walk up a tree, it was so close to us. Ryker enjoyed all the dinosaur food (ferns).
Rocky for sure! Trail markers were sometimes misleading. It looks like the mountain laurel will be amazing!
I was not able to track or finnish the trail..phone battery died.
Trail did not disappoint with the views. Was steeper then expected. Dogs had to be on leash a lot more Tehran usual due to terrain and popularity of the trail. Need to return and explore the lower trail that we decided not to take with the dogs.
Loved this hike! Enough elevation to get your heart pumping. Great views too!
The trail up to the top from the road was relatively easy and quick. We decided to go down the other end of the trail on the other side of the peak. The trail was harder and more interesting .. until it dropped us off at a waste yard? We had to walk the rest of the way(about 0.5 miles) on the main road. I wouldn't suggest that again. Several other people ended up having to do the same thing as us.
Fun little climb! I went counter-clockwise, and the initial walk along the ridge was wonderful. Views up top were not spectacular — it was cloudy and grey — but I imagine they’d be delightful on a clear spring or summer day.
