It started snowing right as I got here and I thought about turning back. Glad I didn’t! The lake looked great in the snow, and the views from West Rock were amazing. The snow made the footing a little treacherous, but other than that this was a great hike. Encountered a lot of people walking their dogs by the lake, but other than that the trail was empty.

One of my favorite trails. Very very slippery out there between the leaves and the rocks so be careful!

Loved this trail. Made it a longer loop than what AllTrails had. Really well marked trails with great rock scrambles and views

Moderately difficult hike with great views. Wear hiking shoes- rocks get slippery with the leaves all over

If you go around the Lake it's easy but if you do the longer part around the lake it's very difficult near the cliffs

Warning to anyone afraid of heights. You are walking on large rocks right on the edge of a cliff up top. Nice hike though.

Very nice trail. It took me from the blue trail to the orange trail. I’m thankful for the map because I kept following the blue trail and I would be really lost without it.

Trail down from circle house to road is very sketchy. Kids and I were sliding on gravel and leaves. Very few roots. Castle was open. Difficult to socially distance. I regretted bringing kids up.

Quick easy trail. The overlook is quite pretty. I saw a lot of cars at the trailhead but did not see that many people on the actual trail. I’ll be back to do this one. It was relaxing to sit and watch people fish, too. There is not a fee to park.

Really nice trail. Except for the part where you’re coming down and you’re walking alongside the cliff coming back and there was lots of rock on it. Me and my mom had to walk on the road because it got too rocky. Would suggest if you really love hiking just be careful for the cliff coming down

HikingGreat!Rocky

Great trail deserving a 5 star. Perfect to spend the day out and come back tired. 1. Safety - The blue part of the trail is close to the edges of hill so families with younger kids, please be careful. We had kids aged 9-10 in the group and were able to enjoy the hike safely. The blue trail is also mostly rocky. 2. Number of scenic views - We stopped by a number of times to enjoy the views. Part of the trail goes around the trail and you have multiple points where you can access the lake to enjoy some time there. Once you join the blue trail, you also get the high point views and it's breath taking. 3. Difficulty - Perfect mix of length (5+miles) and elevation. We had two families with 3 kids aged 9-10 and at the end of the trail, we were tired enough to sit down and enjoy a good picnic near the end of the lake.
