Nature trips

I did this one in the blue blaze the trail this morning. I’m giving this one a higher rating because there weren’t as many sloppy stream crossings and the trail was a little bit more varied and interesting to walk. Again, the elevation changes are so subtle that you really don’t notice most of them. Bugs were present but not really as much of a problem as I might have anticipated, since it’s warm and humid this morning.

It did rain for a good part of this last week so perhaps that’s why the bugs were out in full force. If you don’t have bug spray, prepare to get an upper body workout swatting them away. Also, many parts of the grass are overgrown so wear pants. Overall, it was an easy hike, quiet, and only passed by one person.

Easy, low key trail. Well marked if you follow the orange and yellow blazes. Small amount of mud at the beginning of the trail.

First to Review

This is a pretty easy trail close to home. the trail starts as red blazes, and then changes to yellow blazes. The first part of the trail on the left is extremely well marked, but when it turns right to make the loop, the markers virtually disappear. I got off the trail several times, but thanks to all trails, I was able to find it again. I did end up doing a little bushwhacking. When the trail loops around, it goes behind houses at Northington subdivision. after this, there are no trail markers at all. Most of the trail is pretty easy to follow, but again I got off the trail a few times, but again, thanks to all trails, I was easily able to get back to it. I ended up doing 3.19 miles and 351 feet according to my Garmin 935.
