Lots of snow, tried to hike the blue blaze to spruce brook. Drifts were up to my knees without snow shoes. I ended up going down the yellow blaze and following white out. Still lots of fun, great views!

blue to yellow to red to blue. missed the first switch to yellow because only the rocks were marked. after red we turned the wrong way on blue. made it back with an extra 3 miles under our belt.

Started counter clockwise on the trail, a bit slippery and muddy along the path. overall beautiful water view and an awesome hike.

Trail was in good condition, not too much mud or ice. Good trail to take the dog along.

This is a middle-of-the-road moderate level trail. It was easier than I had expected based on other users' reviews. It is very rocky, but there are no scrambles that you need to use your hands to climb up. The blue trail stays far enough from the edge that there is no risk of falling unless you intentionally go off the trail to the edge. The yellow portion of the trail was very muddy and partly flooded. The view from the top of Chauncey Peak is nice. I did this loop counterclockwise, but it would be doable without much difficulty in either direction.

I went clockwise. Be mindful, this trail switches colors. I went from blue to yellow to red to blue to blue/red and ended with blue. Awesome. Very slippery, be careful

wasn't sure of the terrain. very steep. I love hills and this was a good one. had a little trouble with the trail markers initially but it worked out. great views. coming down was an issue as the other side was NOT marked the whole way.

The trail was well marked: mixture of dirt paths and rocky terrain. Fantastic vistas from crazy cliffs. Could see Hartford and even into Mass! We hadn't realized there was a massive active quarry behind us till the ground shook, huge explosion with the sound of rocks showering down. We could smell the gunpowder... no harm but it was memorable!
