Short hike, but the view is spectacular. Great if you want a quick hike and a picnic.

I LOVE THIS LITTLE PARK. THE HIKE AND VIEWS ARE GREAT. EVEN THO ITS NOT PART OF THE HIKE YOU HAVE TO SEE THE ORIGINAL BUNGALOW (TAMARACK LODGE BUNGALOW). SOME PEOPLE GET IT MIXED UP WITH THE PICNIC PAVILION. FREDERIC S. DENNIS WAS A SUCCESSFUL NY DOCTOR THAT USED THE 240 ACRES AS HIS SUMMER LODGE WHICH HE CALLED HIS ESTATE TAMARAC. FROM WHAT I COULD FIND OUT THE STONE WORK OF THIS SHINGLE STYLE (AMERICAN ARCHITECTURAL) IS ORIGINAL. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PARK IS WORTH SEEING. RIGHT FROM THE ENTRANCE, DRIVING TO THE BUNGALOW AND HIKING THE TRAIL. I DON'T LIVE IN CONNECTICUT BUT I'M TRYING TO HAVE A FAMILY REUNION HERE.

Beautiful view from the gazebo. Nice short easy hike

Did this as part of the Skys The Limit hiking challenge. Just in case anyone else gets confused, the pavilion at the top of the park is not the gazebo you need to take your picture. Kind of a "duh" moment, but thought it was worth mentioned since I ran into some people who thought it was. This was an easy hike for me, the gazebo was about a mile in if you take the right section of the loop going up. The rest of the loop is just a wooded trail, but it was a nice hike. Must be a great place to picnic in the fall. Views were nice, but they are better at the pavilion.
