You need a Stamford parking permit from 1 May through 30 September. Or else it’s $25 to park. Which is kinda expensive to go for a late September walk. You can walk in for free, but most street parking nearby is permit only. Chelsea Piers is about 1/2 mile away and has free parking. But you need to endure the walk through a slightly skanky neighborhood.

It’s a decent walk. Nice water views. Mostly paved trails. Separate lanes for foot power vs wheel power, plus a special lane for littles on wheels.

I’m sure I would enjoy it more sans the parking fee.

Not much to write home about. Just a paved trail through a harbor. You can see Long Island across the way.

This is a flat paved 1 mile long loop alongside a beach park. Beautiful views of the Long Island sound. Good for a (very) short walk with the kids, but definitely not for hiking or biking.

Scenic route along the Connecticut coast with lots of beach access, and good seafood in the small towns along the way.

From big cities to beach towns to country to historic Mystic. You could spend 4 hours or 4 months on this drive. I have done this drive many times and would still go again.
