Four stars only because the rock itself is amazing, it is not where it is indicated on AllTrails or any of the maps. It is tribal land & it is trespassing if you do not have permission. It is difficult to access from the 395 Service Station, you have to cross a brook before you get to a footbridge for the 2nd brook & there are 2 wire fences up as well.
Wouldn’t call this a hike, more like an exploration. The trail as shown on app was hard to find/follow, but there are trails out there. Saw a huge rock w a potential Native American cave underneath? I could be wrong, but it was neat to see. Was this Cochegan Rock? Not according to app but looked similar to images found on google
Overgrown. Not marked. App kept me on track. Made my own path 1.5 mile loop over and down a steep incline, good thing I brought at least 1 walking stick. Saved my behind a few times.
