Loved this trail! Very tough, almost 2.5 miles straight up with some road mixed in. Trail is well marked and beautiful, with some nice wildflower areas. I would like to add this is an out and back trail, not a loop. Will be back for sure!

It was a fun 2 hour hike with varied terrain, never too far from anything. Went to the top of the ski area and turned around.

Really enjoyed hiking all around Mowhawk, not just on this trail. Perfect place for a family get together and plenty areas for a leisurely stroll in addition to some nice wooded hiking trails

Found an abandoned cemetery with Revolutionary War head stone. Only downfall it that is some areas the blue trail markers are so faded we had to guess and got lucky.

Great hike, would definitely do this again. Trail is marked out well in junction areas and the view at the end is great.

Trailhead at Essex Hill Road for Cathedral Pines is a well marked, but overgrown and hard to follow in some sections. The blue trail spills out onto Great Hollow Road for approx. 5 of a mile, then the blue goes through a shared gravel driveway and through shared parcel and up to the top of Mohawk Ski Mountain. Be advised, the trail is overgrown in many sections. Once at the top of Mohawk Mountain, there's much to see and the trail continues with along a road briefly and then deep into the woods. I did not get to the end and I turned around. My out and back totalled 10mi.

Went on this trail and thought it was going to be all woods. This is mostly walking on the road about 20% of the trail was in the actual woods. Im a woods type person and was a little disappointed. In the woods type part of the hike its definitely a HIKE a lot of uphill climbing. Im giving it 3 stars because of the woods part was so short but it was nice
