I live near here and love these woods. I find it especially good for trail running (see my loop below). The summit has a view of Essex (better in winter). There are three trail heads.

I go in this trail quite often and it is great all year. Decent climbs, views, and wildlife. Trails are all well-marked and there are plenty of choices. Personal favorites include Eagle Hill and the viewing platform dedicated to a loved one who passed on the green trail.
