Designated a research national monument, Yucca House is a large, unexcavated Ancestral Puebloan archeological site. The site is one of many Anasazi (Ancestral Pueblo) village sites located in the Montezuma Valley occupied between AD 900 and 1300.

Finding the trailhead was challenging, as it is on private property. The NPS site has the correct directions. The trailhead had a sign-in box with a bee's nest in it. The path was hardly visible. There were lots of animals, including snakes. The actual historic site wasn't much. I would recommend skipping it.

the only thing picturesque is an old abandon house under a tree with the mountains as a back drop. this place is historic in nature but not worth the time to go. unless you really into archeology.
