Lots of bike traffic, but plenty of room to pull off to pass!

A bit too much bike traffic to feel comfortable, especially with a 2 and 4 year old hiking. But otherwise it was lovely.

Great family friendly trail. On a Saturday afternoon there were quite a few mountain bikers, but otherwise a beautiful hike!

Great hike, well marked, not amazing views but you get to see winter park from Yankee Doodle trail.

Great trail, would recommend! Pleasant moderate incline with great views the whole way. Not a lot of shade on the trail and the sun was hot. Bring your water, sunscreen and a snack! There were only a few mountain bikers out but not very busy otherwise.

Absolutely beautiful hike!! The pictures posted here don't do it justice. The trail was a little muddy in spots but no snow.

Turned back about half a mile before the end because I got tired of pulling my legs out of snow drifts. Gorgeous!

Good trail. We did it in the snow. It was a quick out and back! The view isn’t amazing, but it’s worth it if you just want a short, easy, trail.

Nice hike- moderate is a good description. Lots of animal tracks- saw a big bull moose not far from the turnaround point of the trail. He was about 200 yards to side of trail and was not shy. So cool!

October trip Summer crowd is gone and winter isn't here yet Our first day in town and we wanted a mid-level trail. We found the Yankee-Doodle trail to be enough of a challenge for both teen and parent We were able to get a nice hike in, while not needing more than hiking boots, water, and a camera.

Love loved loved this trail! I don’t know why it’s labeled as moderate because for an amateur hiker like me it was pretty easy! A nice steady incline but nothing crazy.

Beautiful variety of trees in various stages from filling in beetle kill to old growth pine and aspen. Nice views of Winter Park town as you ascend. Very nice for seeing aspens in fall. Watch out for bikes. This is a black diamond mountain bike trail per Winter Park maps. Other blue and green bike trails are options beginning from the same base starting point. You can ride down a wide dirt road optionally.

Ran this trail. Great run with a good climb going out but breaks with flat sections. Lots of wildflowers and last mile is in the trees.

This was wayyyyy too difficult to be labeled "easy" if on a mountain bike. Both myself and my husband fell in the slippery sand when navigating the rocks, trees, stumps and tight turns. Mine was a 10 bandage event, his less bloody. How was the rating given? I'm getting more wary of AllTrails rating systems.

moderate hike, not too difficult. Views were decent along the way. 4 miles total. Bring a hat and sunglasses if the sun is out.

This was one of our last hikes for our trip to Colorado and it was too close to downtown Winter Park. Maybe it was because we had hiked more secluded places before this one and were disappointed by the noise from the road. It is a gradual incline but we decided to turn back before the end to find a more secluded trail.

Nice casual incline, a little rocky, but easy to navigate. A great quick hike! It's in and out of shade, with beautiful views.

Lots of mountain bikers. Fun easy hike out and back. My dogs name is Yankee Doodle so I had to do it. Lots of friendly dog lovers on the trail too. Beautiful views of Winter Park too!

Out and back with the fam first day in town. Best views are on the first 1/3 of the trail, with a nice vista of Beyer’s Peak. Most of the trail is in the sun with lots of standing deadwood and evidence of fire a year or two back. Top is a meadow view.

Easy, kid-friendly walk with great views of Winter Park. Hiked 3.2 miles round trip by starting in Yankee Doodle, switching to Serendipity at around 1.2 miles (there is a clearly marked sign at the intersection), and finishing in Cross Roads. Mostly unshaded on Yankee Doodle, but Serendipity is through the forest and has more shade.
