Ran into 2 hunters and 4 hikers the whole day. A good spot to actually enjoy nature. The hike has an incline the majority of the trail, it's a big gain in elevation.

Great trail to hike with a loved one as the lake's beauty is beyond reproach.

Great hike, you're going up the whole time but it's short and sweet! Beautiful up top! My husband did fish a little.. large trout in there!

Absolutely fabulous hike! Mushrooms of all shapes and sizes and the beautiful lake! Gorgeous and a great workout! My two dogs loved it almost as much as me!

Buggy to the max! Covered with DEET spray - but still got bit. Tons of biting and stinging insects buzzing around your head and in your face. It seemed no matter where we stopped to catch our breath, insects swarmed. Steeper than expected. The trail gets pretty narrow in places. I cannot imagine children and dogs enjoying this trail this time of year. There are many other moderate trails with equally beautiful views and much prettier wildflowers.

Lovely hike. Fairly steep with a steady climb up to the lake. My dog would not cross the swift creek even though it wasn't deep so I dragged a few logs across to create a shotty bridge (you're welcome). :)

Perfect for kids. We had three kids ages 10, 8 and 5 on our hike today. Mosquitos/bugs in a few areas so bring bug spray. Bridge was out but it was easy to cross the creek. Beautiful trail!

Have to agree, this trail has a bit of everything. Solid elevation gain, aspen trees transitioning into nice big conifers, waterfall (where you can fill up your water bottle), beautiful lake up top, gorgeous views all in a 3-3.5hr out and back hike.

This one has it all. Elevation gain, wildflowers, a stream, aspens and a lake.
