The rating depends on what you are looking for in a trail. We were looking for a steep hike to prepare for Mount Elbert later in our trip. This trail did not disappoint!! Hiking poles were a big help - recommended. The view from the top is worth the climb.

The road from Leadville to the trailhead was a bit rough for my 2WD truck, but it managed.
