this is a beautiful trail..sometimes the indications are not clear so you should look around. I think that the distances are longer as shown bur we recommend to enjoy this views and the nature.

Grass was a little overgrown so pants are definitely recommended, even in the summer months. We ended up taking a detour to the Alpine View and it was gorgeous!

Overall satisfied with this trail. The trail itself wasn't rocky, mostly pretty smooth with a steady incline. Great views the entire hike. Round trip took us about 4.5 hrs, we really took our time getting to the summit. Also stopped twice for snacks. If your in somewhat decent shape you can handle this trail.

Awesome hike! Great views. We took the Weehawkin Trail just beyond the end onto the unmaintained trail. We sat and had lunch on the trail and stared at a beautiful mountain in front of us. It was so close! It was awesome! We back tracked to Alpine Mine Trail and ended at Alpine Lookout. Breathtaking!! Amazing views! This was a full day of hiking since both trails together were 11 miles so about seven hours of hiking. But well worth it!
