The first part of the trail is all gravel and just a service road to the water tower which is like half a mile or so up. It took some searching but we found a small tracked trail that headed past the water tower to the top of the hill. It went down the other side of the ridge/hill towards Arrowhead. When it came to the first valley where there's an aspen patch it starts disappearing especially in grassy areas. it took some trial and error to find a trail that reappears. There was an old abandoned bathtub in this small valley with plants growing out of it which is cool. A less tracked "trail" reappears for a bit going up the side of the next ridge that crests above the west side of Arrowhead but it completely stops before the top. that's where we turned around. finding our way back was only easy because of my dog.

It was really hot already at 8 am and while you could see everything in the valley its all development and houses because well Edwards. Okay hike before work but Id rather stay near my place in Minturn better hiking.

More just a bike path. Totally unsheltered by trees.
